In japanese language, this movie is Known as Hotarubi no Mori E. This movie is based on the friendship between a little girl and a young man. The name of little girl is HOTARU and the name of the young man is GIN. GIN is a cursed spirit that keeps a mask on his face all the time.

When Hotaru was 6 years old then she met GIN in a forest and both became a friend of each other. Actually that forest is near Hotaru’s grandfather’s house where Hotaru used to visit his grandfather during the summer holidays. Every year during the summer vacation, Hotaru used to go to the forest to meet GIN or play with him. Now as GIN is a soul, That’s why Gin doesn’t becomes oldin age or remains young. But Hotaru gets older and she wants to touch Gin But she can’t do it.

Because if she will touch Gin, he will be lost forever from this world. The time keeps passing and Hotaru’s desire to touch Gin increases with the passage of time too. Why can’t Hotaru touch Gin?
